CULLOWHEE, N.C. =The Western Carolina women's tennis team was defeated by Wofford 5-2 on Saturday afternoon in the third conference match of the season for WCU.
After being swept in doubles, the Catamounts came out and picked up two victories in singles play at No. 1 and No. 5 spots.
Senior Stacia Kissell got WCU on the board with her tenth win of the season at No. 1 singles with her 6-1, 6-1 victory over Catherine Martin.
Sophomore Elizabeth Ansari battle all three sets to get a 6-1, 2-6, 10-6 victory over Samantha Russell at No. 5 to close out the scoring for the Catamounts.
The loss drops the Catamounts record to 8-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
Western Carolina next take to the courts on March 24 at 10 a.m. against Savannah State in Savannah, Ga. And travel to Hilton Head, S.C. to take on Flagler at 4 p.m. the same day.
