Hoops Home Game Times; Season Ticket Incentives Announced

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Western Carolina Department of Athletics announced the home game times for the 2019-20 men's and women's basketball seasons Wednesday (Oct. 2) along with “The Great Eight” incentives package for season ticket holders. 

Fans who purchase basketball season tickets by Oct. 15 will be eligible for the “The Great Eight” incentives this season.

Items included with season tickets purchased by Oct. 15:

  • SWAG: 20% off WCU Bookstore Apparel good at the WCU Bookstore or Ramsey Center merchandise stand.
  • FOOD: A drink and hot dog for $4 OR drink and popcorn for $4 courtesy of Aramark.
  • BRING A FRIEND: Receive two additional tickets to the game of your choice.
  • PIZZA PARTY: All season ticket holders will be invited to a pizza party at one home game.

Season ticket holders and fans who would like to sign up for a free entry by Oct. 15, will have the chance to win:

  • HONORARY COACH: One lucky fan will win the opportunity to be Honorary Coach for a game.*
  • FLOOR SEATS: One lucky fan will win two-floor seat tickets to the Jan. 29th men's basketball game vs. UNCG and the Feb. 15 women's basketball game vs. UNCG.* 
  • MARCH IN ASHEVILLE: One lucky fan will win two all-tournament tickets to the SoCon Basketball Championship in Asheville.*
  • LUNCH WITH THE COACHES: Two lucky fans and their guest will win lunch with Coach Kiley Hill and Coach Mark Prosser as well as an autographed basketball from both teams.*

The Catamount men will play eight evening games inside the Ramsey Center with five games scheduled for afternoon starts, while the women have nine evening games and six in the afternoon. The two teams will have a combined 30 home contests broadcast live on ESPN3 and ESPN+ including all home Southern Conference contests.

WCU's basketball season officially opens Nov. 5 as Catamount women's basketball begins a new era under new head coach Kiley Hill. Western Carolina's women will open the season Nov. 5 hosting UVA-Wise at 7 p.m.

For the second-straight season, Western Carolina men's basketball will host its home opener as part of a double-header with Catamount football. WCU will welcome Gardner-Webb at Noon Nov. 9 in the Ramsey Center before football's 3:30 p.m. kick-off against ETSU in the Blue Ridge Border Battle. It will also be “Heroes Day” with both basketball and football honoring all first responders and military personnel.

The 2019-20 schedule features two home doubleheaders: Jan. 11 as women's basketball welcomes ETSU at 2 p.m. while the men entertain Mercer at 5 p.m. and Feb. 22 as women's basketball tips off a 5 p.m. with Wofford and men's basketball goes up against The Citadel at 7:30 p.m.  

Another highlight to look forward to this season is women's basketball's annual Education Day game, held in the Ramsey Center. It is slated for Nov. 18 at 11:30 a.m. welcoming mountain rival UNC Asheville. Area school children are invited to the game free of charge.
