CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina volleyball opens a four-match homestand on Wednesday night as the Catamounts welcome UNCG to Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center for a 6 p.m. contest.
Admission to Wednesday's match is free of charge and fans can attend without capacity restrictions. Under current campus regulations, the proper wearing of face coverings over the nose and mouth is required for all spectators regardless of vaccination status indoors within campus facilities. Parking is available in the Creek Lot across from the Ramsey Center and fans are asked to enter the Ramsey Center through the truck tunnel entrance.

The Catamounts enter Wednesday night's match at 8-9 overall and 4-2 in Southern Conference play after splitting a pair of road matches last weekend. WCU opened with a 3-0 sweep at Furman on Friday before a 3-1 setback at Wofford on Saturday. Senior
Merry Gebel had a team-best 11 kills on Friday and recorded 21 kills on Saturday, her third match this season with 20 or more kills.
UNCG comes to Cullowhee tied for first place in the SoCon with a 16-3 overall record and a 5-1 mark in the league. Mercer, which is also tied for first in the SoCon standings, halted a five-match UNCG win streak before the Spartans scored consecutive victories last week, opening the weekend with a 3-0 road triumph at Wofford before outlasting Furman 3-2 on Saturday. UNCG leads the SoCon in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, assists, kills, blocks, and digs.
Wednesday's match is the 57
th all-time meeting between the two in-state foes with WCU leading the series 31-25. The Catamounts swept the season series in 2020-21 and have defeated the Spartans in six straight matches.
WCU's homestand continues on Saturday evening as the Catamounts host The Citadel on Saturday at 6 p.m.
