CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina volleyball continues its four-match homestand on Saturday as the Catamounts host The Citadel in a 6 p.m. contest on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center.
Saturday's match will serve as the team's annual Dig Pink match as WCU volleyball teams up with the Side Out Foundation. In conjunction with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match and can make a donation by visiting

Admission to Wednesday's match is free of charge and fans can attend without capacity restrictions. Under current campus regulations, the proper wearing of face coverings over the nose and mouth is required for all spectators regardless of vaccination status indoors within campus facilities. Parking is available in the Creek Lot across from the Ramsey Center and fans are asked to enter the Ramsey Center through the truck tunnel entrance.

WCU is 8-10 overall and 4-3 in league matches following a 3-1 setback against UNCG on Wednesday. Freshman
Bailey Hartsough recorded her first career double-double with 18 kills and 16 digs. Senior
Merry Gebel had a double-double with 14 kills and tied a career-best 18 digs. Classmate
Sydney Carlson recorded a team-best 23 assists and tallied a career-high 13 digs.
The Citadel is 7-5 overall and 3-3 heading into a weekend road swing that takes them to UNCG and WCU. Sharlissa de Jesus, a preseason All-Southern Conference selection, leads the league in kills per set with 4.02 and is third in the conference in service aces at 0.45.
Saturday's match is the 43
rd all-time meeting with WCU leading the all-time series 33-9 including an 18-3 record in Cullowhee. The teams played two matches during the 2020-21 season in Charleston with the Catamounts earning a thrilling 3-2 win on Feb. 1 before the Bulldogs took a 3-0 win the next day.
