Greensboro, N.C. – Western Carolina women's golf won both of its matches on Monday at the 2nd Annual Aggie Invitational at the par-72, 6,205-yard Championship Course at Bryan Park. The Catamounts opened play by edging mountain-rival UNC Asheville 3-2 before closing play on the first day with a 4-1 win over the host North Carolina A&T.
Western Carolina plays in the championship match on Tuesday against Elon, which claimed wins over Howard (4.5-to-0.5) and Appalachian State (4.0-to-1.0).

Kaitlyn Wingnean claimed a point for the Catamounts against UNCA before falling in her second match with classmate
Elizabeth Lohbauer rebounding from a loss in her first match to win against the Aggies in the afternoon meeting.
The 54-hole match-play tournament concludes on Tuesday morning with the final matches, including WCU facing Elon in the championship flight. The host Aggies match-up against Appalachian State for third place. In the consolation bracket, Howard and UNC Asheville play for the consolation while Alabama State and North Carolina Central square-off in the other consolation match.
Tuesday features an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
