SPARTANBURG, S.C. – With the 2021 Southern Conference volleyball regular season concluded on Saturday evening, Western Carolina is officially seeded fifth in the upcoming championship tournament slated for Friday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Nov. 21 at the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
WCU faces fourth-seeded Wofford at 12:30 p.m. Eastern/11:30 a.m. Central on Friday in the first of four quarterfinal matches. The winner of the WCU/Wofford match will face the winner of the second quarterfinal between the victor of Monday's first round match between No. 8 Chattanooga and No. 9 Furman against top-seeded and regular season co-champion Mercer in the first of two semifinal matches on Saturday at 6 p.m. Eastern/ 5 p.m. Central.

Wofford swept the regular season series against the Catamounts, earning a 3-1 win in Spartanburg on Oct. 9 and outlasting the Catamounts in a five-set thriller in Cullowhee on Nov. 5. This is the first meeting between the teams in the SoCon Tournament.
The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Eastern/ 4 p.m. Central on Sunday, Nov. 20. The tournament champion will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Volleyball Championship.
