Holliday Scores Career-High 21 as Catamounts Down Bulldogs

Catamounts take break for finals and return Dec. 20 hosting Davidson

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Junior Endia Holliday poured in a career-high 21 points as Western Carolina women's basketball picked up a 61-52 road victory at South Carolina State Sunday at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. 
 
Turning Point:
Tied at 10, with 2:02 left in the first quarter, the Catamounts went on a 4-0 run to lead 14-10 after the first 10 minutes. WCU went on to outscore the Bulldogs in the second and third quarters to maintain the lead and capture the win. South Carolina State did outscore the Catamounts 19-18 in the fourth quarter. 
 
 Individual Leaders
  • Holliday scored a career-high 21 points adding four rebounds. She was also 5-of-7 from the free-throw line.  
  • Nadia Marshall just missed scoring in double figures with nine points and ripped down five rebounds.
  • Sophomore Joi Reid pounded the glass for a team-best eight rebounds. 
  • Mekayla Lumpkin led South Carolina State with 15 points. 
 
 Inside the Box Score
  • The Catamounts shot a scorching 50 percent from the field 24-of-48 from the field. South Carolina State was held to 35 percent. 
  • Western Carolina snagged 38 rebounds to the Bulldogs 24. 
  • The free-throw line was where the Catamounts earned 11 of its 61 points going 11-for-20. 
  • South Carolina State kept itself in the game hitting six three-pointers in the contest. 
  • Western Carolina got half its points inside the paint scoring 32. 
  • South Carolina State's 10 turnovers turned into 10 points for WCU.
