Savannah, Ga. – With three holes remaining to finish in the second round, the Western Carolina men's golf team sits in second-place behind fellow Southern Conference foe Mercer at the spring-opening Invitational at Savannah Harbor on Saturday.
The second round was suspended due to darkness on Saturday. Teams will complete the second 18-holes on Sunday morning beginning at 8:00 am before opening the final round at approximately 9:00 am. Live scoring is available online through GolfStat with a link provided on CatamountSports.com.
Through 15 holes, WCU junior
Louis Theys was tied for the individual lead after shooting a 3-under par 69 in the first round. The Villers-Perwin, Belgium, native carded four birdies against one bogey in the first round and also had four birdies through 15 holes in the second with two bogeys.
Sophomore
Pierre Viallaneix is tied for 11th with three holes to play in the second round. He had five birdies including three in the second round entering Sunday's continuation. Junior Tumi Kúld is tied for 16th with six birdies including five in the second round. Rounding out WCU's scoring five are sophomore
Magnus Pedersen in a tie for 23rd and freshman
Presten Richardson in a tie for 36th. Pedersen has seven birdies while Richardson carded four on Saturday.
