CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina volleyball will honor its four seniors

Hannah Price, and
MaKenzie White this weekend as the Catamounts host the Mercer Bears for a pair of key Southern Conference matches in the Ramsey Center.
Ranking as two of the top four teams in the SoCon standings entering the weekend, WCU and Mercer battle on Sunday at 3 p.m. and Monday at 5 p.m. with both matches streamed on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required). WCU's senior quartet will be honored during a pregame ceremony prior to Sunday afternoon's match.
The Catamounts enter the weekend 6-7 overall and 6-5 in the Southern Conference after splitting two road matches last weekend at Furman. The Paladins claimed Sunday's match 3-1 before WCU closed out the series Monday with a 3-0 sweep. In Monday's win, sophomore
Johnna Robinson recorded a career-high nine total blocks with eight block assists.
Mercer heads to Cullowhee with a 10-5 overall record and 9-1 league mark that includes a nine-match winning streak. The Bears last lost at home to Samford on Jan. 31, splitting the seasonal series with the current conference leader. Last Sunday, the Bears outlasted Wofford on the road in five sets before sweeping the Terriers on Monday. Outside hitter Annie Karle earned the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week honor for her efforts which included two double-doubles and a .391 hitting percentage.
The teams have met 27 previous times with WCU holding a 17-10 lead in the all-time series. The Catamounts swept the regular season series in 2019 before the Bears defeated WCU 3-2 in the quarterfinal round of the 2019 SoCon Tournament.
Following a scheduled open weekend, the Catamounts welcome third-place Wofford (7-4, 7-4) in the second of two makeup matches on Thursday, March 25 at 6 p.m.
