Madison Isaacson also climbed inside the individual top five to lead Western Carolina to second-place, up three spots after 36 of the scheduled 54 holes at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.
First-round leader Eastern Kentucky continues atop the leader board in the 13-team field, up by 17 strokes over the Catamounts, 592-to-609, after two rounds of play. Findlay is third, two strokes behind WCU at 611 with Tusculum (621) and Northern Iowa (624) rounding out the top five teams.
Play concludes with the final round at the par-71, 5,803-yard Highlands Course at the Sevierville Golf Club on Tuesday morning. WCU's scoring five tees off together on the first hole beginning at 11:30 am.
Ladd finished Monday's second round with 14 pars and countered a double-bogey and a bogey with a pair of birdies. Even-par after nine holes with seven pars, a birdie, and a bogey, the Greensboro, N.C., product moved to 1-under par with a second birdie on the par-5 14th. However, a double-bogey on the par-3, 165-yard 16th relegated her to 1-over for the round. She's in the clubhouse with a two-day score of 1-over par, 143, a stroke behind the individual leader Ragga Kristinsdottir of Eastern Kentucky (142).
With a team-best 24 pars, Ladd ranks second in the field while her six birdies over 36 holes are tied for the third-most.
Isaacson shot a 2-over par 73 on Monday, posting 14 pars with three bogeys and a birdie on the par-3 18th to cap the round. Her two-round score of 147 is five strokes off the lead pace. Isaacson is tied for the best par-3 scoring in the tournament at even-par (3.00).
Seniors
Maya White and
Hazel Martin both gained eight spots in Monday's second round. White matched her first-round score of 79 to move into a four-way tie for 24th while Martin was a stroke better, following Sunday's 81 with an 80 on Monday to move into a four-way tie for 36th overall. White has two birdies and an eagle this week and Martin has a pair of birdies.
Rounding out WCU's scoring five is senior
Cameron Wood who jumped two spots into a tie for 56th overall as she was three-strokes better on Monday with an 83 for a two-day total of 169.
