Cullowhee, N.C. – Wednesday night's nonconference baseball match-up between Western Carolina and Wake Forest has been canceled the two schools announced today.
The match-up between the Catamounts and Demon Deacons was set to be the front-end of a home-and-home added after both squads had released preliminary spring schedules. WCU is slated to host Wake Forest on Tuesday, April 20 in Cullowhee.
Western Carolina (5-3) turns its attention to a three-game nonconference set this weekend at in-state foe Charlotte. The three-game series begins Friday afternoon with first pitch at 3 p.m. and continues with a 3 p.m. game on Saturday and a 1 p.m. finale on Sunday. The series against the 49ers marks the first meetings for the two UNC system schools since 2010.
