Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina women's golf opens its first of two-consecutive tournaments in the eastern reaches of the state on Monday, traveling to the par-72, 5,907-yard Pinehurst Resort's No. 6 course for the Pinehurst Women's Intercollegiate.
WCU is among nine teams slated for competition, joined by Southern Conference foe UNCG. The field also includes Boston College, Evansville, Morehead State, Rutgers, St. John's, UNC Asheville, and Western Illinois.
Western Carolina's scoring five is led by sophomore
Victoria Ladd who is coming off a career-best runner-up finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. Ladd ranks 18th overall in the SoCon in stroke average at 77.50. She is flanked by junior
Madison Isaacson, who ranks 11th in the SoCon in scoring average at 76.30, in the second seed. Seniors
Hazel Martin,
Maya White, and
Harper Gilreath rounding out the Catamount lineup.

Courtney Gunter. "They have been putting in the work over the last few weeks and are ready to enjoy some more competition."

The Catamounts will remain on the road for the ECU Easter Invitational April 3-4 at the Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, N.C., in their final tune-up before the SoCon Women's Golf Championship April 19-20.
