EC Niebauer leads the Catamounts, Sadler Miller biggest gainer on Tuesday

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – Senior Sadler Miller climbed 15 spots into a tie for 36th in the final individual standings, and graduate transfer EC Niebauer advanced four places to lead Western Carolina in a tie for 30th as play concluded Tuesday at the Low Country Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford at the par-72, 6,156-yard Golf Course at Indigo Run. The duo guided the Catamounts to a 10th-place tie in the final order, matching future Southern Conference foe, Tennessee Tech.

Miller posted WCU's best final round score of 3-over par 75 on Tuesday, moving into a tie for 36th place overall after 54 holes. The Clayton, N.C., native countered five bogeys with a pair of birdies, her last coming on the final hole of the day to finish 3-over and the event at 239.

Niebauer played eight holes at 1-over par in the final round before three-straight bogeys between holes No. 2 and No. 4 left her at 4-over par with seven holes to play. A double-bogey on the par-5 seventh left her at 6-over par, 78, with a two-day total of 237. Niebauer was one of just four golfers to card an eagle, doing so on the par-5, 473-yard 14th in Monday's second round.

Elsa Maren Steinarsdôttir moved up six spots, matching her opening-round 7-over par 79 on Tuesday to finish tied for 41st overall. She finished the event with 12 pars, five bogeys, and one double-bogey. Rounding out WCU's scoring five were sophomore Annalee Caveney in 50th (244) and classmate Emily Rosenschein (252) in 67th. Caveney carded her second birdie of the event and finished with a final-round 87, while Rosenschein shot 83 over the final 18 holes.

UNC Asheville cruised to the team championship over mountain-rival Appalachian State by 18 strokes, 901-to-919. Richmond (922) slipped into third overall, three strokes back with UNCG (923) and Butler (930) rounding out the top five. Wofford (931) finished sixth, just ahead of conference foe ETSU (935), with WCU in a 10th-place and The Citadel in 15th.

Caroline Patterson of UNCA claimed medalist honors with a 1-over par 217, five strokes ahead of ETSU's Arisa Piyamanit in the runner-up position. Treva Dott (223) of Butler rounded out the individual podium finishes.

Western Carolina returns to action in its final tune-up before the 2026 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, hosted by the University of Georgia at its home golf course in Athens, Ga. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is scheduled for March 28-30, a Saturday through Monday.
