Presten Richardson are amidst a three-way tie for second place, a stroke off the lead at 5-under par 139 after 36 of the scheduled 54 holes at the Wofford Invitational being held at the par-72, 6,648-yard Country Club of Spartanburg.
Sophomore
Magnus Pedersen is tied for seventh overall, giving the Catamounts three individuals inside the top 10 overall. WCU enters the final round in the runner-up spot, two strokes in arrears of second-round leader Georgia State. The Catamounts posted rounds of 276 and 289 for a 36-hole score of 565, while the Panthers are atop the leaderboard at 563.
Viallaneix carded seven birdies and eight pars as a part of a 5-under par 67 in Monday's opening round, following it up with an even-par 72 on the second 18 holes for a two-round score of 139. Viallaneix charted three additional birdies in round two to give him 10 over the first 36 holes, tied for the fourth-most in the field. Richardson matched the sophomore's scores with a 67 and 72, both representing his career-low rounds. The Miller, Mo., native carded nine birdies and an eagle on the par-5 No. 1 to open his second round.
Pedersen carded a tournament-high tying three eagles on Monday, including two in the first round, posting rounds of 3-under par 69 to match his season-low round and an even-par 72 to sit just three strokes off the lead. Pedersen added six birdies over the opening 18 holes, including five in the second round.
Rounding out WCU's scoring five are junior Tumi Kúld in a tie for 26th at 3-over par 147 with classmate
Louis Theys tied with four others for 58th overall after shooting 7-over par, 151. Kúld posted seven birdies on Monday, while Theys posted eight birdies.
Wofford's Ryan Marter paces the 81-golfer field after shooting consecutive rounds of 3-under par 69 for a 36-hole score of 138. The top 10 individuals are all within four strokes of the lead entering Tuesday's final round, which begins at 8 a.m. with tee times off the first and 10th holes. Paired with golfers from Georgia State and Wofford's A-team, WCU's scoring five opens on the front nine, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
