Tennis Falls to ETSU at Home Wednesday

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis returned to the court on Wednesday and fell to visiting ETSU 7-0 at the Catamount Tennis Complex. 
 
TURNING POINT:
ETSU broke a 1-1 tie in doubles play to take the doubles point and swept the singles. 
 
 INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Jacy Smith and Julia Pezzuco earned a win at No. 1 doubles taking the victory 6-4. 
  • Kata Foldeak and Anna Uljanov each went to tiebreakers in their respective singles matches. 
  • At No. 1 singles, Foldeak won the first set 7-5, lost the second 2-6, and dropped the third set tiebreaker 1-10.
  • Uljanov also fell in a tough tiebreaker at No. 2 singles dropping the first set 6-4 and dropping the second 7-5 (2-7).
 
NOTES:
  • Western Carolina is now 5-2 at home this season. 
  • Smith's win in doubles gives her 26 in her career as she ranks fifth in the Western Carolina record books. She needs five wins to move into fourth place.
