BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Western Carolina women's soccer dropped its final Southern Conference road match of the season at Samford, 1-0, Sunday at Shauna Yelton Field.

Turning Point:

The Bulldogs scored in the 62^nd minute for the lone goal of the match and held the Catamounts to seven shots in the match.

Inside the Box Score

A defensive battle was the tale of the first half as both teams fought off scoring chances by the other.
Samford got the golden chance when the Catamounts were called for a foul at 62:42. The Bulldogs first shot off the free kick hit the top of the woodwork but it fell in a perfect spot for Taylor Yount to send it in, off the rebound, for the score.
Isabella DeMarco and Ava Robitaille each had two shots in the contest.
Western Carolina had a total of seven shots, three on goal.
Leanne Trudel got the start and had five saves in the contest.

Western Carolina has lost via 1-0 shutouts in back-to-back matches.
WCU has been shutout eight times on the year.
