CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Sophomore
Bailey Hartsough led Western Carolina with her fifth double-double of the season in a 3-0 loss to ETSU on Saturday evening on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center. ETSU won by scores of 19-25, 22-25, and 19-25.
ETSU improves to 12-6 overall and 6-0 in the Southern Conference. WCU drops to 11-7 and 4-2.
Hartsough tallied a team-best 10 kills along with a team-leading 11 digs. Classmate

Sydney Carlson both dished out 15 assists.
Eden Punch swatted a team-best four blocks.
Brianna Cantrell led four ETSU players in double figures offensively with 13 kills. Taylor Roberts tallied a match-best 20 digs.
The Catamounts enjoyed a 7-5 advantage in the first set following a Hartsough kill before ETSU used a 5-0 spurt to lead 10-7. After a
Merry Gebel kill brought WCU within three, 13-10, ETSU answered with four of the next five points and maintained their lead for the rest of the set.
In a tightly contested second set, WCU tallied four straight points to grab a 21-18 advantage before a late ETSU charge gave the visitors the set victory.
The Bucs broke a 10-10 tie with three consecutive points and pushed their lead to 15-11 at the media timeout. WCU would get no closer than three points the rest of the way.
WCU hits the road for a pair of matches next week, traveling to UNCG on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before facing Furman on Friday at 6 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to air on ESPN+ (paid subscription required) with free live stats available on catamountsports.com.
