Love Scores Career-High 23 in Nail-Biter Loss at Presbyterian

The Basics:
Score: Presbyterian 68, Western Carolina 67
Records: Western Carolina 2-2; Presbyterian 2-1

CLINTON, S.C. – Maya Love scored a career-high 23 points, but it wasn't enough to stave off a comeback by Presbyterian as the Blue Hose defeated the Catamounts in a nail-biter 68-67. 
 
Turning Point:
In the final 2:40 of the game, Presbyterian overcame a 10-point, 62-52 deficit, as the Blue Hose made three huge three-pointers. The Catamounts were sent to the line via intentional fouls but were just 2-of-6 in the final 46 seconds to allow Presbyterian a last-second shot down by one. In the final four seconds, Bryanna Brady hit the game-winning shot.
 
 Individual Leaders
  • Love led all scorers with 22 points and dished out five assists.
  • Rookie Reagan Trumm hit four three-pointers and ended the game with 15 points.
  • Audrey Meyer had 10 points and led the team with seven rebounds.
 
 Inside the Box Score
  • Western Carolina left plenty of points on the table hitting 15 of its 27 free throws.
  • The Catamounts had 18 turnovers in the game that Presbyterian turned into 21 points.
  • After hitting only one three-pointer in the first three quarters, Presbyterian hit three in the fourth quarter which helped the Blue Hose complete its comeback. 
  • Western Carolina was down 26-19 at the half. WCU scored 25 third-quarter points.
