CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina volleyball head coach
Karen Glover today announced the addition of two student-athletes for the 2023 volleyball season. Middle blocker Logan Carr will be graduating high school early and joining the Catamounts this spring, while outside hitter Zoe Zudans will join the team in the fall.

"Logan and Zoe are highly decorated recruits, and I am excited to add them to our program," said Glover. "They are also phenomenal young women who will represent Western Carolina well and help us compete for Southern Conference championships."

Logan Carr – MB – Lancaster HS, Desoto, Texas / Madfrog Volleyball Club
Carr arrives in Cullowhee after playing at Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas. While playing for the Tigers, Carr earned First Team All-District accolades and was selected as the best hitter in the district and is ranked by Prep-Dig as the No. 50 player in the state of Texas and the sixth-ranked player at her position. She began her prep career at Heritage High School in Conyers, Ga., earning First Team All-Region honors during the 2019 and 2020 seasons and played for the Heritage junior varsity team beginning in seventh grade.

Rated as the No. 106 player nationally by Prep Volleyball, Carr was tabbed as an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) phenom in 2020, 2021, and 2022 and was invited to the Under Armor All-American Camp in 2021 and 2022. While playing for A5 Volleyball Club, Carr was a member of teams that won national qualifiers, placing 2nd at AAU nationals and in the same year winning the Triple Crown Invite National tournament.Â

Carr also excels in the classroom, earning First Team Academic All-District Honors as well as Prepvolleyball Academic All-American laurels.Â

Zoe Zudans – OH – Suncoast High School, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. / Jupiter Elite 18s
Zudans heads to Cullowhee following a prep career at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, Fla. As a member of the Chargers, Zudans was a member of district championship teams in 2019 and 2022 and Tri-County champions in 2020. A team captain, Zoe earned 2022 AVCA All-Region 3 honors, 2021 All County First Team honors from the
Palm Beach Post & Sun Sentinel, 2020 All County First Team laurels, and 2019 All County First Team laurels.

While playing for High Tide Volleyball Club, Zudans was a part of their 2019 AAU National Championship team and 2018 GJNC National Championship squad. This season she will compete for Jupiter Elite. She was part of the Class of 2023 Prep Volleyball watchlist, the 2021 and 2020 AVCA phenom list, and Prep Volleyball Frosh 59. Zudans also earned AAU Academic All-American honors and is on the Principal's Honor Roll.
