Three Catamounts Score in Double Figures in Loss to Wofford

Begins two-game road swing at Mercer Thursday

 Location: Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center, Cullowhee, N.C.  
 
CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's basketball had three players score in double figures as the Catamounts fell to Wofford 71-49 Saturday on Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center. 
 
Turning Point:
Wofford scored 42 of its 71 points inside the paint and held the Catamounts to eight points in the second quarter. 
 
 Individual Leaders
  • Sophomore Joi Reid led all Catamounts with a career-high 13 points, added six rebounds and four assists. 
  • Graduate student Madison Pack drained a pair of three-pointers, scoring 11 points, and ripping down six rebounds. 
  • Sophomore Audrey Meyers came off the bench to tie her career-high with 10 points and added six rebounds. 
  • Wofford's Helen Matthews led all scorers with 23 points. 
 
 Inside the Box Score
  • Western Carolina turned the ball over 23 times and Wofford turned the miscues into 25 points. 
  • Each team had three blocks. 
  • The Catamounts outrebounded the Terriers 37 to 29. 
  • The Terriers shot 45.5 percent from the field and Western Carolina shot 37.2 percent. 
  • Wofford hit eight three-pointers to Western Carolina's five. 
  • The Terriers got 31 of its points from its bench. 
  • There was one lead change, and the game was tied twice. 
  • Wofford led for 35:18 minutes of the game.

  • Pack hit a three-pointer to open the game for the Catamounts in back-to-back games. 
  • Reid has scored in double figures in back-to-back games. 
  • Pack has hit at least one three-pointer in the last three games and five of the last six contests.
  • With two rebounds against Wofford, Tembre Moates has amassed 518 rebounds and moves into 25th place in the WCU record books for rebounds in a career. She needs eight rebounds for 23rd place and usurps former Catamount and current WCU Associate Head Coach Kendra Samuels-Eaton.
