CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis fell at home to Wofford 5-2 in a hard-fought match.  
 
TURNING POINT:
Wofford took the doubles point and took four of the six singles matches.
 
 INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Wofford took the doubles point winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The Catamounts got the win at No. 3 doubles 6-1 with a victory for the tandem of Jacy Smith and Miray Konar. No. 2 doubles duo Angela Perez and Kata Foldeak put up a valiant fight before dropping in a tiebreaker 6-6 (5-7).
  • Freshman Angela Perez got the Catamounts on the board with a victory at No. 5 singles. She defeated the Terriers' Emely Kahrs 6-2, 6-2.
  • Wofford moved to a 2-1 lead getting a win at No. 3 singles with Smith's 2-6, 2-6 loss.
  • Sophomore Kata Foldeak tied the match with a win at No. 1 singles. She defeated the Terriers' Lily Woods 6-0, 7-6.
  • Wofford's victory at No. 4 singles put the Terriers up 3-2.
  • The Terries sealed the match with a win at No. 2 singles.
 
 NOTES:
  • Smith won her 34th career doubles match and continues to rank fourth in the WCU record books.
  • Foldeak won her eighth singles match of the season and her 17th in her career – moving her into the top 25 in the Catamount record books.
 
 
UPCOMING:
Western Carolina hosts its final regular season match of the season welcoming Mercer for a Southern Conference tussle. The match is set to begin at noon Thursday, April 14.
