CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis dropped its Southern Conference match with No. 35 Furman 7-0 Wednesday at the Catamount Tennis Complex. 
 
TURNING POINT:
Furman earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles and swept through the singles matches. 
 
 INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • The Catamounts earned one victory in the match, winning at No. 2 doubles as Kata Foldeak and Angela Perez picked up a 6-1 win over Madison Dillon and Ellie Schulson.
  • The Catamounts only fielded five players in singles play as it forfeited No. 6 singles. 
  • Perez had a good showing at No. 5 singles taking both sets to tie-breaker, 6-7 (4-7), 6-7 (4-7). 
 
 NOTES:
  • Foldeak won her team-leading 13th doubles match. That mark is good for 10th in the WCU record books for doubles wins in a season. 
  • Foldeak has a total of 20 career victories in doubles good for 14th in the WCU record books for career wins. 
 
 
UPCOMING:
Western Carolina dips back out of conference play for a final time Saturday hosting Davidson at 2 p.m. Seniors Hoda Habib, Julia Pezzuco, and Jacy Smith will be honored before the match.
