CLEVELAND, TENN. – Select members of the Western Carolina track & field team recorded a pair of top-five finishes and three top-10 results as four student-athletes competed in the Lee University Last Chance meet on Saturday.
In the men's triple jump,
Javell Brown got on the podium by taking third place with a top mark of 14.86 meters (48'9").
Javon Brown followed in fourth place thanks to his best leap of 14.67 meters (48'1.75").
Michael Harris finished in eighth place in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.03.
David Miles competed in both the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash. Miles began his day with a time of 49.43 to finish 17
th in the 400-meter event. Later in the day, he completed the 200-meter dash in 22.12 to finish 26
th out of 52 competitors.
Selections for the NCAA East Preliminaries will be announced on May 19. The NCAA East Preliminaries are scheduled for May 25-28 in Bloomington, Ind.
