Rain Postpones Start to Catamount Men’s Golf Season

Play at the Badger Invitational set to begin on Monday

Cullowhee, N.C. – The start of the 2022-23 season for the Western Carolina men's golf team must wait another day as rain canceled Sunday's scheduled first round of the 2022 Badger Invitational at the par-72, 7,259-yard University Ridge Golf Course.

Scheduled for 18 holes over three-consecutive days beginning Sunday morning, the tournament endured a pair of rain delays to its first round before officials decided to postpone the start until Monday with a tentative 10 a.m. ET / 9 a.m. CT shotgun start. The 54-hole tournament is now slated for 36 holes of continuous play on Monday with the third and final round on Tuesday.

Though Sunday's round was canceled, the individual competitors in the field were able to start and complete their first round amidst the inclement weather at the Pleasant View Golf Course.

Live scoring of each round is available online through GolfStat.com with recaps of play available online at CatamountSports.com.
