Doubles Pairs Win Draws at Wofford Fall Invite

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis dominated doubles play over the opening two days of the Wofford Fall Invite, claiming a pair of draw titles on Saturday afternoon.

After weather prohibited much action on Friday in Spartanburg, the pairs of Dasha Osadova/Andrea Redondo and Chloe Schwarz/Madison Schwarz were efficient on Saturday as both teams claimed the wins in their respective draws.

The pair of Redondo and Osadova got out to a fast start in their lone match on Friday with a 6-4 win over PC before advancing to the Gray bracket finals with a 6-1 victory over a pair from Radford and Wofford. The duo finished off the bracket convincingly with a 6-1 victory on Saturday night over SoCon foes from Mercer.

The Schwarz sisters got off to a similar start with a tight 7-5 decision over a pair from Gardner-Webb before earning a 6-3 victory over Jacksonville State to play for the Black bracket finals.

Like the Redondo/Osadova pair, the Schwarz's defeated a Mercer duo by the score of 6-3 in the black bracket finals to claim the crown in their doubles bracket on Saturday night.

All four Catamounts in Spartanburg are set to play singles action on Sunday to conclude the fall slate for WCU women's tennis.
