Laredo, Texas – In its first action of the spring semester, the Western Carolina men's golf team posted team rounds of 299 and 305 for a 36-hole score of 604 on Monday to sit in 13th place at the Border Olympics being held at the par-72, 7,375-yard Laredo Country Club.
Monday's first round was suspended late in the second round with several teams having 1-to-2 holes to play. Action resumes at 7:30 a.m. CT / 8:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday with the final round to start immediately after.
Though WCU's scoring five did complete Monday's first two rounds, positioning in the standings is not official until all teams get through 36 holes on Tuesday morning. Senior
Magnus Pedersen led the Catamounts with a 2-over par 146 on Monday with redshirt junior
Pablo Hernandez three strokes back at 149.
Adam Hooker carded a 1-over opening round before finishing at 151. Rounding out the Catamount side were fifty-year senior
Louis Theys (151) and redshirt freshman
Josh Lendach (162).
