Allison Scores Game-Leading 19 in Loss at UNCG

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Western Carolina women's basketball dropped its final Southern Conference road game of the season 72-59 at UNCG Saturday in Fleming Gymnasium.
 
Turning Point:
UNCG opened the game on an 8-0 run and outscored the Catamounts 20-10 in the first quarter. The Spartans shot 48.5 percent in the first half and built a 16 point, 39-23, lead in the first 20 minutes.
 
 Individual Leaders
  • Graduate student Kyla Allison scored a game-leading 19 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds.
  • Senior Endia Holliday had 11 points and five rebounds.
  • Faith Price paced UNCG with 13 points.
 
 Inside the Box Score
  • Western Carolina closed out the game outscoring UNCG 18-15 in the fourth quarter.
  • After opening the game shooting 30 percent from the field, Western Carolina ended the contest at 50 percent.
  • Each team hit three treys in the game. Western Carolina hit all three of its three-pointers in the second half.
  • Western Carolina was 10-of-14 from the free throw line while UNCG was 7-of-13.
  • The Spartans just edged the Catamounts in rebounds ripping down 31 to WCU's 28.
  • The Spartans scored 19 points off the Catamounts' 17 turnovers in the contest.

  • Allison has scored in double figures in the last three games and four of the last six. She leads the team and has scored 19 times this season in double figures.

  • Mya Love had her double-figure scoring streak snapped at UNCG.
  • Western Carolina shot 50-plus percent from the field for the second time this season. The Catamounts are 1-1.
  • Allison tied her season-high with nine rebounds.
  • Allison hit a team-leading 29 three-pointers on the season with her pair of treys against UNCG.
