CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's basketball had two players score in double figures, but Samford escaped Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center with a 72-63 win over the Catamounts Saturday.

Turning Point:
The Catamounts built a 20-8 lead after the first quarter but Samford outscored Western Carolina 45-24 in the second and third quarter to pull ahead for the win.

 Individual Leaders
- Mya Love scored a game-leading 19 points. She also pulled down six rebounds and dished out three assists.
- Rookie Reagan Trumm posted a career-high 17 points draining three treys in the contest.
- Sussy Ngulefac paced Samford with 18 points.

 Inside the Box Score
- Samford shot a scorching 50 percent from the field including 66.7 percent in the third quarter.
- The Catamounts built a commanding 20-8 lead in the first quarter but the Bulldogs outscored WCU 21-12 in the second quarter enjoying a 14-point scoring run near the end of the second.
- The Catamounts did build a three-point halftime lead, 33-29, when Endia Holliday hit a field goal inside the paint before time expired.
- Samford took over the game, for the most part, in the third quarter after the game was tied at 35. The Bulldogs scored 10 consecutive points to retake the lead for good.
- In the fourth quarter, Western Carolina cut the Bulldog lead to five, 60-55, with 5:43 remaining when Love hit a lay-up. WCU would never draw closer.
- Samford scored 48 of its points inside the paint.
- Western Carolina's bench scored 25 of WCU's 63 points.

- Love has scored in double figures in five consecutive games and seven of the last eight.
- With her career-high 17 points against Samford, Trumm has scored in double figures six times on the season.
- The 63 points scored by Western Carolina against Samford is the most points scored by the Catamounts in a conference game this season.
- Additionally, the 63 points is the most scored by WCU since Dec. 30, 2022, when the Catamounts posted 64 points in the win over Southern Wesleyan.
