Four Catamounts Score in Double Figures in Loss at Furman

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Four Catamounts scored in double figures in Western Carolina women's basketball's 66-53 road loss at Furman Thursday in Timmons Arena. 
 
Turning Point:
The Catamounts held a 31-28 lead at halftime, but Furman found its groove in the second half thanks to a 9-0 run to build a 42-35 lead and would never trail again. In the third quarter, the Paladins outscored WCU 24-13. 
 
 Individual Leaders
  • Junior Joi Reid ripped down a career-best 14 rebounds. 
  • Kyla Allison led the Catamounts with 13 points. 
  • Zanoria Cruz had 11 points hitting the only three-pointer of the game for WCU.
  • Mya Love and Endia Holliday each scored 10 points for the Catamounts. 
  • Jaelyn Acker led Furman with 19 points.
 
 Inside the Box Score
  • Furman used the long ball to keep itself in the game early, hitting four first-half treys, and ended the contest hitting eight three-pointers. 
  • Western Carolina hit just one three-pointer in the game coming at the close of the second quarter. The Catamounts were 1-of-10 from the three-point line in the game.  
  • Furman got 28 points from the free throw line going 28-of-44 from the charity stripe. 
  • Western Carolina was awarded just 21 trips to the free throw line hitting 12.
  • The Catamounts shot better from the field than Furman shooting 40 percent to the Paladin's 32.
  • Furman just edged Western Carolina in rebounds with 40 to WCU's 34.  
  • Furman outscored the Catamounts 38-26 in the second half holding WCU to two field goals in the fourth quarter.
