CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis improved to 5-0 at home with a 7-0 win against Lees-McRae Wednesday at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
 
TURNING POINT:
Western Carolina swept the doubles point and went on to sweep in singles, as Lees-McRae had a player withdraw at No. 1 singles due to injury, to clinch the match.
 
 INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • It was a clean path through doubles play as the Catamount duos won 6-4 at No. 1, 6-2 at No. 2 and 6-2 at No. 3.
  • Sophomore Angela Perez got things started for the Catamount in singles picking up the firs win 6-0, 6-2.
  • Freshman Dasha Osadova sealed the match at No. 6 singles winning 6-2, 6-0.
 
 NOTES:
  • Jade Groen earned her eighth win in singles play.
  • Western Carolina has won five of its last six matches.
  • Groen and Andrea Redondo leads the team with six doubles wins on the year.
