ORLANDO, Fla. – Western Carolina women's tennis closed out its four-match Spring Break trip to the Sunshine State with a 7-0 sweep of Loyola-Maryland on Friday morning at the USTA National Complex.
 
WCU improves to 11-5 overall while Loyola drops to 4-6.
 
The Catamounts opened the match by clinching the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles as the pairing of Madison Schwarz and Angela Perez won 6-0 and the tandem of Jade Groen and Andrea Redondo won, 6-2.
 
Isabella Sambola recorded the win at No. 1 singles, earning a hard-fought 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory. Groen was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at No. 2 singles with Perez posting her second win of the day by recording a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. Redondo earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles. Chloe Schwarz and Dasha Osadova were 6-4, 6-2 victors at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
 
WCU is off until March 19 when the Catamounts resume Southern Conference play at Mercer. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
