Javon Brown and
Javell Brown finished in 24
th and 28
th place respectively in the men's triple jump on Friday as part of the NCAA East Preliminaries at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Javon Brown's leap of 15.26 meters (50'0.75") was a season best, narrowly edging his previous season best mark of 15.25 meters (50'0.5") at the SoCon Championships earlier this month. Javon's mark came on his third and final attempt after scratching his first two jumps.
Javell Brown recorded his top mark of 15.16 meters (49'9") on his third and final attempt. Javell opened with a mark of 13.05 meters (42'9.75") and turned in a leap that measured 14.53 meters (47'8") on his second attempt.

Javell Brown exceeded their seeded entries as Javon was the No. 46 seed and Javell was the No. 39 seed. The two led Southern Conference student-athletes in the event as league champion Edwin Rainey of Samford placed 40
th.
