CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina and Mercer meet in a rescheduled Southern Conference volleyball match next Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Noon on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center, it was agreed upon today. Hurricane Helene postponed WCU's originally scheduled home-opening match against the Bears back on Sept. 29.
Live stats for the rescheduled midday matinee on Nov. 6, will be available through CatamountSports.com, with any additional coverage options announced closer to the date.
The two teams rematch their most recent meeting from Oct. 26 tilt that saw the Bears earn the 3-0 sweep of the Catamounts at Hawkins Arena. Junior Ali Morris and sophomore Zoe Zudans led WCU in the match with 10 kills apiece as Morris dropped in six digs and a pair of blocks. Sophomore Katie Boney added six digs and three kills to her career-high 30 assists.
Next Wednesday's rescheduled match now gives the Catamounts three-straight at home – and has Western Carolina (7-14, 1-7 SoCon) playing five of its final seven regular-season matches inside the friendly confines of the Ramsey Center. WCU opens the three-match run with a pair of matches on Homecoming week, beginning Thursday, Oct. 31, against Samford and Friday, Nov. 1, against chromatic rival Furman. Both matchups with the Bulldogs and the Paladins will be shown on ESPN+ (paid subscription required), and live stats will be available on CatamountSports.com.
