Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina track and field dusts off its cleats this week for the opening of the 2024-25 indoor season, traveling to South Carolina for the Clemson Opener on Friday. Action from Clemson can be caught on the ACCNX (paid subscription required), with coverage beginning at Noon.
A combined 17 college teams are slated to be in action including the host Tigers and the Catamounts. One additional Southern Conference school – Furman – will have student-athletes in attendance, with additional Power Four programs Georgia Tech (ACC), South Carolina (SEC), and Virginia Tech (ACC).
A contingent of 38 Catamounts is expected to see the track in some fashion on opening day with Damon Worley expected to be the first Purple and Gold-clad athlete to compete. Worley is scheduled to see action in the men's pole vault set to open the day at 10 a.m.

Catamounts to Watch:
Reigning Southern Conference women's long jump champion Jasmine Greene will make her season debut tomorrow afternoon as she competes in both the indoor long and triple jumps. Her personal best in the indoor triple jump came during the Clemson Opener a year ago when she posted a mark of 11.74 meters.
On the men's side, speedster Quinton Godfrey climbs back into the blocks for the first time this year after a strong freshman campaign last season. The Fairhope, Ala. product earned a personal best at the Clemson Opener last season as well after a 7.03 finish in the 60 meter dash.
Additionally, 13 Catamounts are set to make their WCU debuts at Friday's opening meet. Ethan Long, Kwan Oates, Christian Robertson, Nadir Stukes, Kolton Weaver, Bennett Whitefield, and Trevor Williams represent the men's team newcomers, while the women's team is represented by Lexie Durban, Emmie Finley, Octavia Massena, Aniya Patterson, Marissa Watts, and Miranda Watts.
