Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina women's golf opens play in its second event of the fall season on Monday morning when it tees off in the Green Wave Invitational, hosted by Tulane at the TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La. The 54-hole tournament includes 36 holes of continuous play on Monday, Sept. 9, followed by the third round Tuesday, Sept. 10.
In addition to the host Green Wave and the Catamounts, the eight-team field includes Alabama State, Dallas Baptist, Memphis, South Alabama, Southern Illinois, and Troy.
Paired with golfers from Tulane and Southern Illinois, WCU's scoring five opens Monday's shotgun start between holes 11 and 15. Live scoring through Clippd is available online through a link at CatamountSports.com.
Western Carolina has six entries into the field with an individual vying for the medalist honor accompanying the scoring five. Senior
Elizabeth Lohbauer leads WCU's team entry in the No. 1 spot where she is followed by the squad's trio of freshmen,
Madison Lehr,
Ella Kozak, and
Annalee Caveney. After competing in the first event as the individual competitor, junior
Sadler Miller completes the scoring side in the fifth flight.
Caveney led the Catamounts in the season opener which coincided with her first collegiate event, carding consecutive rounds of 76. She was followed by classmate Lehr and Lohbauer as WCU's top finishers at Clemson's Tiger Classic.
Canadian-born senior Kaitlyn Wingean will compete unattached as the individual.
