Volleyball Inks Four in Early Signing Period

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina head volleyball coach Karen Glover today announced the addition of four student-athletes for the 2026 volleyball season during the early signing period. Leilani Ramos (Jupiter, Fla.), Taylor Baggett (Fayetteville, N.C.), Aiyana Harris (Mansfield, Texas) and Ashlyn Cobb (Delray Beach, Fla.).

Leilani Ramos – 5-9 – Setter – Jupiter Christian HS/Jupiter, Fla./Tribe Volleyball Club
Ramos was a two-year captain at Jupiter Christian High School. During her prep career, she was a part of back-to-back district championships where she tallied 500+ assists in the second of those district titles. The Jupiter, Fla. native also tallied 165 digs, 44 aces, 84 kills and 26 blocks for a stat-stuffing season. She's combined 1,000 assists over the last two seasons. She plays club volleyball at Tribe Volleyball Club.

Taylor Baggett – 6-0 – Outside Hitter – Gray's Creek HS/Fayetteville, N.C./N.C. VB Academy
Baggett comes to Cullowhee after breaking both the school and county record for most kills in a single-season (496) at Gray's Creek High School. She also broke the record for most career kills with 1,395 for her high school and in Cumberland county. Baggett was a 3x All-Region selection while earning All-State accolades in each of the past two seasons.

She also garnered High School OT All-State Honors during the 2024 season as she was named 910 Preps Player of the Year following the 24 campaign. She received player of the year honors during that same season while earning first-team honors each of her other prep seasons. She earned a pair of first place honors on squads in the NEQ Open Division in 2023 and the Big South Open Division in 2024. She plays club volleyball at N.C. Academy.

Aiyana Harris – 6-0 – Middle Blocker – Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield HS/Dallas Skyline
Coming from Texas, Harris joins the Catamounts following a prep career that saw her earn Co-Offensive Hitter of the Year honors in 2024 to go along with second-team all-district honors this past season in her high school career. She plays club volleyball at Dallas Skyline.

Ashlyn Cobb – 6-0 – Outside Hitter – Saint Andrew's HS/Delray Beach, Fla./Tribe Volleyball Club
Cobb joins the Catamounts coming off of a 2025 she earned Palm Beach Post Player of the Week honors. During her prep years she earned first-team All-County honors and was named an AVCA Phenom during the 2023 season and was an American National Champion during the 2022 season. In her club career at Tribe Volleyball Club, she won an Open National Title and was an Open Runner Up while earning All-American honors during the title win.

Western Carolina closes out its 2025 regular-season home slate beginning on Friday, Nov. 14, against Furman before welcoming in Mercer on Saturday's Senior Night.

Friday's matchup with the Paladins is slated for a 6 p.m. first serve and is being dubbed a "WHITE OUT," with fans encouraged to wear their white WCU gear to match the team. Saturday's matchup with the Bears will be Senior Day, as part of a Hike & Spike Doubleheader with Catamount football, which plays ETSU earlier in the day. Seniors Samantha Jo Mikosky and Janelle Blue will be recognized before Saturday's match.

Both matches against the Paladins and the Bears will be shown on ESPN+ (paid subscription required), and live stats will be available for both matches on CatamountSports.com.
