Spartanburg, S.C. – The Western Carolina women's tennis team wrapped up its showing at the Wofford Terrier Invite as sophomore Hokualohi Lui and freshman Axelle Van Beurden both picked up a singles win and combined for a doubles victory over the Clemson Tigers in the weekend's action. 

The Catamount pair fell to the Liberty duo of Celina Joseph and Anika Lemus in their first doubles match, but cruised to a 6-1 win over Clemson's Sophie Clayton and Kinsey Crawford.  

Lui scrapped together a hard-fought singles win over UNC Asheville's Valeria Centeno, battling for a 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, [10-2] over the senior. Lui is now 2-0 against Centeno in her career, with her last victory coming in WCU's 4-3 win over the Bulldogs in the spring season.  

Van Beurden likewise picked up a three-set singles win, going 6-2, 2-6, [10-3] over Mercer's Ines Homberg. The win is her third solo victory of the fall season and her first against a SoCon opponent.
