Orlando, Fla. – The Western Carolina women's tennis team opened its spring break trip the right way, rattling off a 5-2 win over the Fairleigh Dickinson (FDU) Knights in neutral site competition on Monday evening. The Catamounts swept the doubles point, not allowing more than two points to their competition before rolling to four singles victories to clinch the win.
The WCU pairings of Chloe Schwarz / Jade Groen, Andrea Redondo / Isabella Sambola, and Maddison Schwarz / Angela Perez picked up victories 6-2, 6-2, and 6-1, respectively, as the Catamounts took the early 1-0 lead in the match. The doubles sweep is WCU's fourth of the season and the first since going 3-0 against Presbyterian.
