Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina women's golf returns to action back stateside this week, traveling to the capital city of Raleigh and the par-72, 6,181-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course for the City of Oaks Collegiate, hosted by North Carolina State. This week's event is the first of two in North Carolina ahead of next month's 2025 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship.
The City of Oaks Collegiate is a 54-hole tournament with scheduled competition over two days, Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22. Friday includes 36 holes of continuous play with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The final 18-hole round is Saturday with set tee times based on position off both the front and back nine for Saturday's start.

In addition to the Catamounts and the host Wolfpack, the 17-team field includes golfers from Appalachian State, Boston College, Campbell, Central Michigan, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Elon, Georgetown, James Madison, Marshall, Old Dominion, Richmond, Rutgers, and UNCG.
Paired in foursomes with golfers from Central Michigan, Marshall, and Richmond, the Catamount scoring five is set to open Friday's 8:30 a.m. shotgun start between the 12th and 15th holes.
The Catamounts were last in action at the rain-shortened Puerto Rico Shootout at the Palmas Del Mar on March 4-5, finishing seventh with a two-round score of 594 after the final day was washed out by rain.
WCU's top two finishers from the Caribbean are among the top three leading the team into Raleigh this week. Senior
Elizabeth Lohbauer posted a team-best ninth-place tie in Puerto Rico – her third ninth-place finish of the season – with a 1-over par 145. Lohbauer ranks 17th in the SoCon individual standings with a seasonal stroke average of 75.21.
Sadler Miller, who posted a season-best 10th-place tie last time out, is seeded third for the Catamounts entering Friday's opening round. Miller has a seasonal scoring average of 79.21.
Freshmen
Ella Kozak and
Annalee Caveney are seeded second and fifth, respectively, with sophomore transfer
Abby Bradley at No. 4 as she enters her second event of the season for WCU since coming to Cullowhee from Emory & Henry. Kozak ranks seventh among all the SoCon freshmen and 32nd overall with a 78.05 scoring average, while Caveney is the eighth-best rookie at 79.26 in her first collegiate season.
Following this week's two-day event, the Catamounts return to action at the end of the month for the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate in the penultimate event of the season with the 2025 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship set for April 13-15 at the Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, S.C.
