Cullowhee, N.C. – The Western Carolina track and field teams are only a stone's throw away this weekend as they compete at the Asheville Bulldog Invitational, hosted by UNC Asheville at the Karl Straus Track April 11-12. The meet is the fourth in the outdoor season for the Catamounts who will be shoulder-to-shoulder with Southern Conference competition as Wofford, Furman, and ETSU are entered at the two-day event.
Action on both days will be streamed live on ESPN+ (paid subscription required) with streams beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, an early session stream at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning followed by an afternoon stream at 1:30 p.m.

Catamounts to Watch:
Western Carolina's men's sprinters get reinforcements this weekend as speedster Quinton Godfrey is set to climb into his blocks for the first time since the indoor Virginia Tech Invitational in January. Godfrey has a busy weekend as the sophomore is slated to compete in both the 200m and the 400m sprints.
WCU comes into the meet as the top seed in six events, including both the women's 4x100-meter and the 4x400-meter relay. Individually, CJ McFerrin, Elias Barton, and Jackson Livingston are ranked first in the 110m hurdles, the 800m, and the men's javelin throw, respectively, while Ericka Jackson is the top-seeded individual on the women's side in the javelin throw.
Multis athletes Damon Worley, Colby Capps, Bennett Whitefield, Dakota Braucher, and Kendal Hudson will also be in action this weekend competing across a handful of events. Worley is entered in the 110m hurdles and the high jump, Whitefield and Capps are scheduled to compete in the men's pole vault and the javelin throw, while Braucher will look to mark in the long jump and the 400m hurdles. Hudson will compete in the 100m hurdles and the triple jump on the women's side.

Western Carolina has a week away from competition before hosting the annual Catamount Classic at the on-campus Catamount Athletics Complex on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. Friday's action will be broadcast on ESPN+ (paid subscription required).
They Catamounts are then back in action at the 2025 Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala. on May 12-13.
