Cullowhee, N.C. – Playing its lone exhibition tune-up before the 2025 regular season and making one of only two home appearances on Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center until October, the Western Carolina volleyball team put together a solid showing throughout its match against UNC Pembroke on Friday night.

All 15 players on the WCU roster saw action in a match that spanned a scheduled four sets. Six freshmen made their debuts for the Catamounts throughout Friday's nonconference tune-up.

Western Carolina begins the 2025 regular season next Friday, Aug. 29, meeting Big 12 foe Texas Tech as part of the Florida Atlantic Invitational. WCU also matches up with MAC counterpart Kent State later in the day, before facing the host FAU on the following afternoon to close out the opening weekend of action in Boca Raton, Fla.

Following the trio of matches in Florida to raise the curtain, the Catamounts return to the Carolinas to take part in the Blue Ridge Volleyball Classic, presented by Ingles in Asheville. The two-day event in the ExploreAsheville.com Arena at the Harrah's Cherokee Center, the same location as November's 2025 Southern Conference Volleyball Championship that culminate the Catamounts' 27-match schedule.
