Sophomore Tatum Sharp led all players on Saturday with her 10th double-figure kill performance of the season, tallying 12 kills and hitting a team-best .440. Sharp also added a career-best eight digs, along with three blocks and a pair of service aces.

Senior Zoe Zudans recorded 10 kills, adding five digs and a block. Freshman Ashlyn Cobb added nine kills and 13 digs, along with a pair of service aces. Classmate JoJo Abeyta matched her season best with six kills and a team-best four blocks.

Overall in the two matches, Zudans led a trio of Catamounts with 20 kills, followed by 19 from Sharp and 16 from Cobb. Boney tallied 63 helpers over the seven sets. Sophomore Elise Gurley led WCU with 32 digs, while Boney added 25 and Abeyta had nine rejections.

Entering This Week:

Sharp is fourth in the league with 79 total blocks and is seventh in rejections per set at 0.90. Boney checks in tied for third overall in the conference with 29 service aces. Gurley starts Thursday second in the league with 374 digs and is also 15th in the NCAA in digs through this point in 2026. Her 4.25 digs-per-set average ranks third in the SoCon. Gurley is one of just 22 NCAA Division I players to eclipse 350 digs this season.

As a team, Western Carolina leads the SoCon in digs (1,394) and sets played (88), ranks second in kills (1,044) and tied for second in assists (962), and third in service aces (127). WCU is also fourth in blocks (153). Nationally, the Catamounts enter the weekend ranked first in digs, tied for third in sets played, 14th in kills and 16th in assists.

  Catamount Career Record Watch:

Currently with 2,718, Boney needs 89 more assists to move into eighth in program history and pass Shari Harder (2000-03), who finished with 2,806 in her WCU career.
