Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's volleyball team fell to an 8-12 overall and 6-5 league record in a 0-3 loss to Southern Conference rival Appalachian State (9-12, 6-5), Saturday night in the Ramsey Center.
Freshman Pamela Stein led the team with a .200 hitting percentage, recording 12 kills on 30 attempts and only six errors. Junior setter Bri Milan-Williams recorded 38 assists on the night. She is now averaging 10.89 assists per game. Sophomore Cindy Camp and freshman Shari Harder led the team in digs with 16 and 12 respectively. Junior Christy Attebery recorded 19 kills on the night to lead the team in that category. She now averages 5.45 per game.
Junior Karin Nielson led Appalachian State with 13 kills and 12 digs, while senior Tiffany White also recorded a double double with 44 assists and 10 digs. The Mountaineers recorded 53 kills and 56 digs as a team.
Western Carolina will host conference opponent Chattanooga, Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 pm in Reid Gymnasium.
