Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's tennis team fought hard, but came up short against a tough Coastal Carolina team, 6-1. The Catamounts are now 5-5 overall (0-1 SoCon).

Kristin Munn and Kristin Cotton took their match all the way to an 8-8 tie, sending it to a tie breaker, in which Stephanie Koot and Rosemary Younger outlasted the duo, 10-8.

In singles action, Zalinski ended up with the automatic victory after being up 5-4, after Jantti went out with an injury.
