Weems Baskin Day Two Results 
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Western Carolina men’s track and field closed out day two of the Weems Baskin Invitational, hosted by South Carolina, with 25 top-10 finishes and nine top-three.
Junior Kaitlyn Lingard logged in a couple of top-three finishes as she ran a 4:33.49 in the 1500m invitational to place second. She also placed third in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.41.
The Catamounts also got top-10 finishes in the 1500m open and 5000m. Christina Nikolaou placed 10th in the 1500m open with a time of 4:53.13. Lindsey Trotter logged in a third-place finish with a time of 18:21.34 in the 5000m run.
In the 400m hurdles, Dasha Arnaut finished third with a time of 1:01.60. It was a fifth-place finish for the women’s 4x300m relay team of Arnaut, Sally Woerner, Kellsie Whitehead and Jazmine Gooden with a time of 2:43.17. Arnaut, Woerner, Whitehead and Dominiq Delisser combined to finish 5th in the 4x400m relay clocking in a time of 3:53.98.
In the field events for the Catamount women’s teams, Jaelyn Warren and Kinley Drummonds led the way with a couple of second place finishes. Warren placed second in the high jump invitational with a leap of 1.69m. Drummonds was second in the pole vault with a vault of 3.40m.
Other finishes in the field events for the Catamount women included: Marisa Scott with a seventh place in the high jump open with a mark of 1.54m; Gooden ninth in the long jump open (5.38m0; a fifth and seventh place finish respectively for Simone Williams(13.03m) and Lesleigh Tabor (12.72m) in the shot put open and Williams also placed eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.15m.
On the men’s side, for the Catamounts, the 4x300m relay team of Henry Kiedy, Devaniel Dale, Chase Washington-Saunders and Dakota Lamont placed second with a time of 2:18.22. The also combined to finish fifth in the 4x400m with a time of 3:15.86. The Catamounts had two teams rank top-10 in the 4x400m as Miles Greer, Caleb Albrecht, Nick Lawson and Dylan Andrade placed eighth with a time of 3:22.06 5.
Washington-Saunders also placed fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 47.92.
Mateius Brown had a couple of top-5 finishes in the shot put and discus throw. In the shot put invitational, Brown placed fifth with a throw of 16.90m. He also placed third in the open discus throw with a toss of 45.17m.
In the triple jump invitational Dijoun Huitt placed fourth (14.86m) and Kevin Hires was sixth (14.39m). Corey Ginley was ninth in the pole vault invitational with a vault of 4.65m.
In the hammer throw invitational, Scott Peretin placed ninth (56.60m) while in the hammer throw open Jay Stanley placed eighth (45.35m).
Western Carolina returns to action March 30-31 at the Terrier Relays hosted by Wofford.
