TAMPA, Fla. – Western Carolina track and field's Dasha Arnaut closed out her season Friday at the NCAA East Preliminary while senior Mateius Brown competed in the discus throw and will see action in the shot put on Saturday.

Junior sprinter Arnaut clocked in a time of 1:00.48 in the quarterfinals of the 400 meter hurdles on Friday to place 22nd. She ran a personal best time of 58.46 on Thursday to automatically qualify for Friday's race.

Brown hurled a mark of 46.58 meters in the discus to place 41st. He has one more event on Saturday competing in the shot put at 5:30 p.m.

The foursome of Dakota Lamont, Henry Kiedy, Devaniel Dale and Chace Washington-Saunders will compete in the 4x400 meter relays at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
