Cullowhee, N.C. – After winning its season-opening, three-team tournament in the 2019 Judaculla Cup at the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort, the Western Carolina women's golf team returns to action Monday and Tuesday at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, hosted by Austin Peay at the par-72, 5,965-yard Clarksville Country Club.
In its 21st year, the three-round, 54-hole F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate includes 36-holes of continuous play on Monday with an 8:00 am shotgun start. Tuesday's final round will also have an 8:00 am start time. Live scoring is available online through GolfStat.com with a link on CatamountSports.com.
This year marks the first trip to the tournament for Western Carolina. In addition to the host Governors and the Catamounts, the nine-team, 51-golfer field includes Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, IUPUI, North Alabama, Tennessee Tech, and Valparaiso.
Paired with golfers from North Alabama and Valparaiso, WCU's scoring five will tee-off between holes No. 14 through No. 18. Redshirt freshman Madison Isaacson, who won a three-golfer playoff to take home the hardware from the Judaculla Cup, leads the Catamount side while freshman teammate Bailee Twiford will play at No. 2. Twiford matched Isaacson in scoring over 36 holes at the Judaculla Cup before falling on the first playoff hole.
Rounding WCU's scoring five for the second event of the year are juniors Hazel Martin and Maya White with the team's lone senior – Brianna Plummer – playing as the No. 5.
A complete recap and results will be made available following both days of competition.
