LYNCHBURG, Va. – Western Carolina track & field recorded two top-five and six top-10 finishes on the final day of the Brant Tolsma Invitational on Saturday at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
Kate Mattison earned a fourth-place result in the women's 3,000-meter run with a personal best time of 10:07.05.
Makaila McIntyre finished seventh in the women's 60-meter dash finals with a time of 7.88 after logging a qualifying time of 7.86 in the preliminaries.
On the men's side,
Justin Hayes completed the men's 3,000-meter run in a personal best 8:30.69 as he finished in third place.
Drew Zink finished in seventh place, crossing the finish line with a personal best time of 8:53.03.
Owen Barr earned a sixth-place finish in the men's triple jump with a top mark of 12.87 meters (42'2.75").
Charles Cooley finished in seventh place in the men's pole vault after clearing a height of 4.65 meters (15'3").
WCU is back in action next weekend at the South Carolina Invitational in Columbia, S.C.
