Cullowhee, N.C. – The Western Carolina women's soccer team continues to collect postseason honors as senior Isabella DeMarco became the first Catamount in program history to earn United Soccer Coaches (USC) Scholar All-American Honors, collecting third-team honors. Additionally, both DeMarco and classmate Ava Robitaille were named to the Scholar All-South Region second team for their remarkable athletic and academic performances this season.
Both DeMarco and Robitaille additionally earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors following the 2025 season.
Isabella DeMarco caps a legendary career with her first Academic All-American honors and her second consecutive Scholar All-Region team selection, posting a 3.69 GPA while majoring in integrated health sciences. The senior Catamount was named to the second-team USC All-South Region back in early December.
DeMarco's postseason honors come after an outstanding season, which saw the Charleston, S.C. product post a career high in goals (13), points (32), and tied her career high in game-winning goals (3). She rewrote the WCU record books along the way, claiming the career record for assists (25), finishing tied for the career record in points (96), and was second in career goals (35).
A standout striker, DeMarco notched two hat-tricks against SoCon foes, tying her own school record for points in a match as she recorded seven against VMI and UNCG in the SoCon tournament. She was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week for her performance against VMI in WCU's 9-0 win, and was an honorable mention following her outing against the Spartans.
DeMarco is the first Catamount to earn four first-team All-Southern Conference accolades in her career.
Ava Robitaille's first career United Soccer Coaches honor comes after the senior midfielder posted a 3.84 GPA in graphic design. The second-team Scholar All-South honoree was named the Southern Conference's Defensive Player of the Year for a second consecutive season, becoming the first player in the conference to earn back-to-back plaudits since Samford defender Olivia Cole did so in 2015-16.
Robitaille enjoyed a career season offensively as well, netting career-high marks in goals (4), points (10), and shots on goal (12). The Rock Hill, S.C. native notched the first game-winning goal of her career against her hometown team, finding the back of the net in the 25th minute against Winthrop. Additionally, she capitalized on a corner kick in WCU's 3-2 win over the Power Four foe, NC State, taking to the skies for a header in the 47th minute of the historic road win.
