WCU Tied for 13th Entering Saturday’s Final Round in Raleigh

Elizabeth Lohbauer leads WCU in a tie for 29th; Sadler Miller carded the lowest 18-hole round

Raleigh, N.C. – Western Carolina women's golf climbed two spots in Friday's second round at the City of Oaks Collegiate, entering Saturday's final 18 holes in 13th place, just seven strokes outside of the top 10 at the par-72, 6,143-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Club.
 
The final round is scheduled for Saturday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. off both the front and back nine. WCU's scoring five is paired with golfers from Elon, James Madison, and fellow SoCon foe UNCG, with tee times between 9:40 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. off the No. 10 tee.

Senior Elizabeth Lohbauer carded consecutive rounds of 78 to sit in a tie for 29th to lead the Catamounts with a two-round score of 156. After a birdie-free first round, the Venice, Fla., product carded two in the second round. She is a stroke ahead of junior Sadler Miller in a tie for 33rd, countering her first-round 80 with a team-low 77 for a 36-hole tally of 157. Miller charted three birdies including two in the second 18 holes.
 
Rounding out WCU's scoring five two rounds into the tournament are freshmen Ella Kozak in a tie for 57th at 161, Annalee Caveney in a tie for 87th at 171, and sophomore transfer 94th with consecutive scores of 88 for a 36-hole score of 176. Kozak had a birdie in both rounds
 
East Carolina has a sizeable lead over the 17-team field, 16 strokes clear of second-place No. 48 Campbell who moved up a spot into the runner-up position in Friday's second round. The Pirates shot 11-over par 587 while the Camels posted a two-round score of 603. Rutgers slipped into third place, three strokes in arrears at 606, with No. 41 NC State (611) fourth and Charlotte (613) rounding out the top five after advancing five positions in the second 18 holes.
 
Campbell's Mira Berglund posted rounds of 2-under par 70 and 1-over par 73 for a two-round total of 143 to hold a one-stroke lead over Danielle Modder of ECU at even-par 144.
